STEVENAGE TOWN AT HATFIELD
Stevenage Town were visitors on Saturday to Hatfield and suffered defeat to the tune of three to nil. A most peculiar game it was, in which the visitors were decidedly at an advantage in everything but goal-getting. Carpenter, who was again in fine form, was twice badly fouled within the penalty area, but neither time was notice taken of it by the referee. The first goal scored by Hatfield was a beauty, but the other two were what might be called "rotters" - Bray, playing in goal, badly miskicking at each shot; otherwise he did all that was required of him, which certainly was but little.
The Stevenage forwards had terribly hard luck in not scoring, as both uprights and cross-bar were struck several times.
