STEVENAGE TOWN V BALDOCK
On Saturday, with a weak eleven, Stevenage Town were successful in defeating Baldock, at home, by three goals to one. Almost from the start the home team showed a superiority over their visitors, which was maintained right through the gane, although they by no means had it all their own way. During the first half the game was fairly even, although Scoot, the Baldock goalkeeper, had a rough time of it, and some of his saves were very good; the one shot that he let go through, from Crouch, was beyond him.
The second half produced more goals and more exciting play. Stevenage forced a corner, which was splendidly placed, and after touching a visitor's head, landed at the feet of Bird, who turned it into the net. The third goal for Stevenage came from a bit of combination on the right wing, Crouch again being the finisher. Five minutes from time Scott, the Baldock outside right, got in a very fine centre, which Pedley without trouble converted.
The committee of the Stevenage Town Club are anxious to discover who it is who has been damaging the windows of the pavilion, no fewer than twelve panes having been broken, each one by a single stone; and they will reward anyone who gives information.
