HERTFORD V STEVENAGE
Played at Hertford on Saturday, the home team winning by four goals to nil. The visitors, though playing against the wind, started well, and gave the home defence plenty to do at the outset. When Hertford settled down, however, they soon gained the upper hand, and by superior combination, quite outplayed their opponents. Goals were scored by McNeill and Glenister, and Hertford led at the interval by two to none.
On resuming, it was expected that the visitors would make a better show with the wind to assist them, but such was not the case, for the home forwards had even more of the game than before, and goals being scored by Glenister and Earl without any response from the other side. Hertford won as stated. The Stevenage men played well individually, but there was an entire lack of combination among them.
