The Stevenage Wanderers were at home to Arlesey on Saturday, and after a good game left the field victorious by 5 goals to 1. In the first half play was fairly even, the score at the interval reading: Wanderers, 2 goals; Arlesey 1. On restarting, the home team soon got near the visiting custodian, although it was nearly a quarter of an hour from the interval before another point was added, this coming from a good run by Wilson, who passed both backs and landed the ball right out of the reach of the goalkeeper. Two more points were added (by Litchfield and Low), leaving the home team victorious as before stated. Dawson for the home team and Brady for the visitors played a grand game. |
